EV-EV PowerShare: Wie sieht der Ladegerät von Rheidon Tech aus, der das Teilen von Energie zwischen Autos ermöglicht?
This charger has caught the attention of several attendees at Power2Drive. Although it is manufactured in China, the company already offers this and other products in several European countries. Now, Rheidon Tech is aiming for global expansion. How will they achieve it?
Rheidon Tech manufactures electric vehicle (EV) chargers in China, where the company can leverage the strong supply and production capabilities available there.
While the firm offers a wide range of products, one of the most striking is the PC280 PowerShare.
This device can be connected to a car’s discharge socket, providing energy to another vehicle.
“When I learned that some EV drivers had to call expensive tow trucks when they accidentally ran out of battery, I created an EV-EV charger,” explains Joe Lin, CEO of Rheidon Tech, in an interview with Mobility Portal Europe.
He continues: “This allows drivers to draw power from a friend’s EV, providing a convenient and cost-effective solution.”
It’s worth mentioning that during the Power2Drive event in Munich, Germany, where the company participated, this product received several inquiries from visitors.
“Some were amazed by the clean and sleek design of our chargers, while others were impressed by the EV-EV PowerShare function,” comments Lin.
Rheidon Tech seeks partners and aims for global expansion
Although the company is headquartered in China, it began selling its products in Europe in 2023.
Current markets include Austria, Germany, Hungary, Spain, among others.
“To provide better experience for our customers, we are actively seeking local partners in these markets,” says the CEO.
Not only that, but the company also aims “to provide a better charging experience to EV users globally.”
“After the exhibition in Munich, we received a lot of interest from potential distributors and end consumers from around the world,” Lin confirms.
He continues: “We plan to participate in more major trade fairs to promote our mission.”
Despite its successful expansion into the European continent, Rheidon Tech faced challenges when entering the market.
“The biggest challenges were market awareness, logistics, and distribution. Building brand recognition and trust in a new market takes time,” says the CEO.
“Additionally, setting up an efficient logistics and distribution network to ensure timely delivery and support was crucial,” he adds.
The fact is, one of the main distinguishing features of Rheidon Tech’s products is their aesthetic characteristics.
“A friend in Madrid showed me his garage and expressed his dislike for bulky and ugly chargers,” says the CEO.
He adds: “In response, I designed a sleek, and probably thinnest in the world charger, that’s perfect for smaller spaces.”
About Rheidon Tech
“Rheidon Tech started because I bought a Tesla in 2020 and had a bad experience charging at home with several third-party chargers,” says the CEO.
This inspired Lin to design a product that would provide a better experience “and live up to the quality and lifestyle of driving a great electric vehicle.”
“I was frustrated by having to squint to see a small screen, so in our first generation of chargers, we purposefully designed a large display with clear indications of the charging parameters,” he explains.
Although these products were initially created to meet the needs of individual users, they are now also offered to fleet companies.
“They’ve given us positive feedback because they are looking for a charger that aligns with the high-quality design of their electric vehicles,” the CEO explains.
